living life one word at a time.

For me, poetry isn’t simply expression, but rather the method in which to collect myself and piece me back together; my poetry is an amalgamation of who I’ve been, who I am and who I might become.

I tend to be amazed by many things.

Little things.

Like the curve of tea cup,

or the way words look on paper.

Like the curls in her hair,

and the way his eyes crinkle when he smiles.

The way he convinces those around him

that the tears in his eyes aren’t there.

The way that she get up every morning

ready to fight the world once again

The banter of a married couple

The arguments of two siblings

The depth of his voice

The volumes eyes speak

The warmth a hug conveys

The comfort that comes side by side

It’s the little things.

Amazing. beautiful. inexplicable.

Little things.
