Prisha Khimavat

living life one word at a time.

For me, poetry isn’t simply expression, but rather the method in which to collect myself and piece me back together; my poetry is an amalgamation of who I’ve been, who I am and who I might become.

A Day Or Two, In Your Shoes

Be it for a day, or be it for two

I want to walk a mile in your shoes

I want to think your thoughts

And wear your masks

I want to fight your battles

And adorn your scars

I want to carry your burdens

And wrestle your demons

I want to know the battles you lost

And the wars that you fought

I want to unlock your cage

And set you free

I want you to be able to just be

Be it for a day or be it for two

I need to know what it’s like to be you

I want to take your problems upon myself

And erase every worry and every stress

So be it for a day or be it for two

I want to walk a mile in your shoes.
